CTA/CPO focuses 100% on investments by outsourcing backoffice services.

Situation
John LoSordo & Company LLC is a New Jersey-based commodity trading advisor (CTA) and commodity pool operator (CPO).

Challenge
Having recently founded the firm, John LoSordo & Company had a small staff, some big needs and a budget that didn’t allow for hiring an in-house backoffice accounting specialist. As a result, the principals of the Company initially spent hours every day reconciling statements and calculating profits and losses. This was not the best use of their time. With 24-hour trading in more than 60 markets worldwide, they needed to focus their efforts not on administrative work, but on their specialty, trading in the futures markets. After LoSordo interviewed two other fund administrators, a large hedge fund manager recommended LAMP Technologies. In the future, as Losordo expands, the firm plans to start a multi-strategy hedge fund, administered by LAMP.

By outsourcing time-intensive backoffice services to LAMP, Losordo is now able to use all of its resources for trading, making the firm more efficient and better positioned to grow. Plus, the firm’s clients have online access to their accounts 24 hours a day, an information resource that strengthens the relationships between the firm and its clients.
